Additional Improvements at Sherwood Park
A new playground is not all that's coming to Sherwood Park. As of Monday, July 8 demolition work has begun at the park to make way for future improvements including a new shelter, pickleball court, and walking paths. The old, dilapidated basketball courts near the stream are currently being removed. Their removal will be help reduce flooding and native grasses will take their place. Demolition of asphalt paths from the parking lot to future amenities will continue into the week of July 15. The playground and shelter are expected to be demolished beginning July 29. Construction is expected to to take place for the pickleball court and asphalt walks August through September of this year. The playground is expected to be constructed in January 2025 and open in January 2025.
