DPR's Fun Caravan is Bringing the Summer Fun to a Park Near You
Build Together, Play Together” with Durham Parks and Recreation
Fun is pulling up to a park near you this July—literally!
DPR’s Fun Caravan is back for another summer of play, imagination, and community connection! This mobile recreation program brings pop-up play experiences to neighborhood parks across Durham, creating moments of joy for families and children ages 12 and under.
With it’s mission of bringing recreation directly to the people, Fun Caravan has provided recreational services across Durham communities for almost 50 years.
This year, in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month, Fun Caravan is embracing the NRPA’s 2025 theme: “Build Together, Play Together.” Each Wednesday morning throughout July, we’ll transform your local park into a wonderland of unstructured fun and themed activities that encourages collaboration, creativity, and kindness—no registration required! Caregivers (age 16 or older) just need to drop in, supervise, and enjoy the ride.
