DPR Partners with Duke to Empower Youth Mental Wellness Through Community!
Join the YES Study Today!
Have you heard?! We’re partnering with YES to empower youth mental wellness through community!
Youth Empowered Self-Care, or YES, is a study that aims to link youth and families to fun, free or low-cost activities in their local community to promote health and wellness.
Community-based programs can include:
Afterschool programs
Local parks and recreation activities
Youth social programming
Wide disparities persist by race, ethnicity and age with adverse health consequences, particularly in mental health and among youth in underserved communities. Globally, rates of anxiety and depressive symptoms doubled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Your child may be able to join if they are:
8-12 years old at enrollment (3rd - 6th grade)
Live in or near Durham County, NC or Miami-Dade County, FL
Provide a signed and dated informed consent form
There are several benefits too! By joining, your child will receive:
Personalized community-based program referrals
Access to mental wellness resources
Gift cards for completing study surveys
Enrollment is now open through April 2024. Your child’s participation in YES is 100% voluntary. To learn more and join the YES Study, visit youandmehealthy.org/YES
